INDIA. Mumbai Duty Free has exclusively released a limited-edition bottle of Bowmore 52-year-old single malt Scotch whisky, which is being auctioned for at least US$50,000.
Only 232 individually numbered bottles of this rare 1965 expression have been released globally.
As of this week, nine people have submitted valid offers with the highest bid amounting to US$52,000. Bidding will end on 17 April and the results will be announced on 2 May. Registration details for the Bowmore 1965 auction are available here.
The Bowmore 1965 showcases over 230 years of maturation knowledge within the No.1 Vaults, the oldest maturation warehouse in the world. It has been carefully nurtured over the years by Distillery Manager Eddie MacAffer.
The liquid is described as dark amber in colour. On the nose, it offers fragrant fruits, sweet beeswax and intense dark chocolate. On the palate, it delivers notes of burnt heather and fresh spring flower, with a touch of jasmine, dried fruit and apricot finish.
The Mumbai Duty Free departure store is also featuring a live display of the Bowmore 1965.
Mumbai Duty Free Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships Amit Butani said: “At Mumbai Duty Free, we are dedicated to providing our customers with unique products and are pleased to bring the Bowmore 1965 to India, exclusively available at our store.
