Mumbai Duty Free is giving its customers a chance to win gift vouchers worth US$6,000 (INR 500,000) every week for 12 weeks, with a grand prize of one kilogram of gold in its The Golden Ticket campaign.
The latest in a series of popular campaigns by the retailer, The Golden Ticket campaign is open to all passengers travelling to and from Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and is set to run until February 28, 2023.
Passengers can earn lucky draw coupons when spending over US$73 (INR 6,000), with the number of coupons doubling for payments made using a Visa card.
Once they have been filled in, the coupons are submitted into the draw for the weekly US$6,000 (INR 500,000) gift vouchers and also for the grand prize of one kilogram of gold, to be conducted at the end of the campaign.
The first lucky draw for the weekly prize took place on 16 December 2022.
“2022 has been a really exciting year for us. The number of travellers at Mumbai is almost back to pre-covid numbers, and we find that there is a dramatic increase in sales at Mumbai Duty Free as a result,” said Amit Butani, Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships.
“We thought it was important to show our appreciation towards the customers, and what better way than to do it with gold?
“Gold has been considered a status symbol denoting power and prosperity in India since ages, right from the time of kings and queens.
“It was also important that our participants receive weekly awards in addition to the grand prize.”
The campaign has already received a ‘great response’ from the passengers, according to Mumbai Duty Free.
The first lucky draw for the weekly prize took place on 16 December 2022. The vouchers can be redeemed at Mumbai Duty Free until 31 December 2023.
The grand prize of 1kg of gold will be awarded through a lucky draw after the end of the campaign on 28 February 2023.
