Royal Salute has announced the launch of a rare decanter of the Royal Salute Platinum Jubilee Edition and the Royal Salute House of Quinn decanter in Mumbai Duty Free at the departures store at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
The Royal Salute Platinum Jubilee Edition ultra-prestigious aged Scotch whisky expression was launched in 2022 to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Crafted by the brand’s Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, the limited-edition is a bespoke and intricately layered blend that includes high-aged spirits from seven silent stills.
The rarity of the remaining whisky means that, with red apple notes of the Inverleven Distillery, the blackcurrant vibrancy of Lochside and the rich toffee of Caperdonich, it can never be repeated.
Blending traditionalism with modernity, this limited-edition expression is inspired by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s sartorial flare, celebrating her iconic style within the bottle design.
To honour Queen Elizabeth II’s seven decades of reign, Royal Salute chose seven of her iconic brooches, the designs of which have been engraved on seven decanters and box designs, with a colour palette reflective of her famous wardrobe.
One of these editions draws inspiration from Adelaide’s Brooch, which was originally made for Queen Adelaide of the United Kingdom, the wife of King William IV. The jewel was originally used as a clasp on a pearl necklace and was commissioned by William as a gift for his wife in 1831, their coronation year.
Only 21 Adelaide’s Brooch crystal decanters have been released worldwide and No.20 is now available for purchase in India at Mumbai Duty Free for RRP US$20,000.
In addition to the launch of the Royal Salute Platinum Jubilee decanter, Mumbai Duty Free has announced the arrival of another rare decanter, Royal Salute House of Quinn, also launched by the brand in 2022.
The brand partnered with British fashion designer Richard Quinn, wherein Hyslop created a limited edition, high-end blended malt Scotch whisky.
The first of its kind, the decanters are hand-blown in black crystal, paying tribute to Quinn’s edgy and chic style. His bottle pattern design was individually hand painted on each decanter and finished with gold leaf. This collectible comes with a 100% fine silk pocket square scarf that has been produced solely for Royal Salute.
The liquid is crafted with a unique and rare selection of Scotland’s finest aged whiskies. Balancing floral and oaky notes, this blend is a tribute to Quinn’s flamboyant and edgy style. A total of 200 Royal Salute House of Quinn decanters have been released worldwide, with one now available for purchase at Mumbai Duty Free for RRP US$12,000.
